“It is highly rewarding being invited to partake in decision making that has a tangible impact on projects”, said Ibrahim Kadri, Project & Structural Engineer at SLPE.

Ibrahim joined SLPE in 2020. He arrived with a broad wealth of experience working with steel structures across infrastructure and building sectors. Building on his experience of designing telecommunication towers and outdoor media structures, Ibrahim has successfully delivered structural designs of cable decks, internal and external platforms, boat landing systems, and a variety of secondary steel components for offshore wind. With his rich experience in delivering construction projects in the UK and overseas, we believe in his ability to maximise his potential at SLPE.

“Working at SLPE has given me the opportunity to focus my skills and experience and become a specialist in a niche engineering field”, said Ibrahim. “At SLPE, decision making around projects, project workflows, and even the future of the company, are welcomed from each member of the team. This creates ‘space’ for engineers to contribute their ideas for projects and to act upon them”.

Ibrahim is responsible for project engineering and management, including interface management, team coordination, planning and project controls to deliver concept and detailed designs for offshore substations (OSS) and wind turbine generator (WTG) substructures. In addition, Ibrahim is responsible for the design of secondary steel structures within these projects.

“SLPE facilitates a highly supportive and creative environment”, Ibrahim added. “We have regular meetings and one-to-ones where ideas can be shared, explored and approved. Each level of management is accessible, from line managers right up to the Director of the company. This innovative, inclusive, and open-minded approach is part of the reason why I love working at SLPE – it’s a company that really values its employees and wants them to thrive”.

Ibrahim holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and an MSc in Engineering Business Management from the University of Exeter. He is a Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) working towards Chartered Engineer status.
