We seem to have had an eventful August, here at SLPE. Please read below for an update on our first ever SLPE Summer Conference and some of the other activities we have been up to.

SLPE Summer Conference

We are pleased to announce that our first ever SLPE Summer Conference took place this August. Held at ibis Styes London Southwark, the day included a series of presentations with a focus on knowledge sharing and team building. Presentations included:

  • Technical workshops (led by our WTG and OSS substation specialists)

  • An overview of SLPE’s technological developments in the last year

  • A business update on our vision, mission, outlook, and strategy

  • Team socials/team building activities

“I couldn’t be more pleased with how our first ever SLPE Summer Conference turned out”, said Joe Hilton, Director of SLPE. “It was an exciting time looking at our recent achievements and aspirations for offshore renewables substructure design in the coming years. It was also a great opportunity to share our recently updated brand vision, mission, and strategy with the wider team, and a chance to discuss our ambition to become further established as a leading name the offshore renewables industry. Thank you to Patrick Maes of Smulders for joining us on the day. We hope to have you again next year”.

Yard Visit - Hoboken

Our recent visit to Smulders Projects in Hoboken (Antwerp), Belgium was a great success. As always, these visits are an instructive time of team building and knowledge sharing that we all look forward to.

“It is always a pleasure catching up with Smulders’ fabrication engineers to explore the recent technical innovations we have all been working on”, said Melvin Lau, Business Development and Project Manager at SLPE. “Our long-term partnership with Smulders has been mutually beneficial over the years, in terms of knowledge sharing, and I am always impressed with the level of determination there is on both sides to break new ground”.

Thank you to Smulders for your hospitality – we look forward to collaborating on more projects in the future.

Offshore Foundations Conference

We are also pleased to let you know we had an enjoyable and productive visit to this year’s Offshore Foundations conference by IQPC in Bremen, Germany.

“This year’s conference offered a rich array of activities and opportunities to learn about the latest technological developments in offshore renewables from the industry's leading professionals”, said Navraj Sokhi, FEA Specialist at SLPE. “It was a pleasure catching up with others in our industry face-to-face and I’m already looking forward to next year’s conference”.
